Back to Plein Air
If you have been reading my other blogs, you might know that I've been doing the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. Needing to post a finished painting each day had me painting from photos again. More than half the time I was indoors working to finish the day's challenge painting. Yesterday I went back outside to paint!!! Wow.. did I miss working in the fresh air!
The weather here in WI is near perfect this time of year. The colors are turning from greens to gold, orange and red. About now I need a break from all the "green" in our landscapes and I am looking forward to "laying in warmer hues".
Many people came up and talked to me and another artist I was with. They all were excited to see us in their park painting. We were asked the usual questions like, what are U doing? (ahh... painting) How long have U been working on this painting? (umm...years, if you count how long it took me to learn how to really apply paint) and they all know someone else who paints (hey me too! I know many artists)
I really did miss the fresh air and talking to people while painting in my studio. ( ok, I really am in my kitchen, a studio is my dream).
Can't wait to paint outside again tommorrow!!!
